I    love when I    attend a wedding either as a guest or the photographer and am able to witness something so beautiful and authentic, when the ceremony isn’t just something to get through and on to the party.  Emily and Scott chose to have a foot washing ceremony as part of their wedding, signifying to one another (and those in attendance) that they would spend the rest of their lives serving each other.  By lowering themselves, as Jesus did, to become the servant–the lowest of servants–they can express Christ-like love to each other.  My prayer is that they will always have hearts willing to serve and put the other’s needs before their own.  In that way, Emily and Scott will honor God and their vows. What a beautiful way to begin a marriage.
